Abigaelle!!

As many of you have already heard, Amy gave birth to our daughter last night! Abigaelle Taye was born at 7:15 PM on December 19th, weighing 9 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 21 inches. We used the Bradley Method of natural childbirth, and I have to say how proud I am of Amy for handling the pain so well (especially considering how big the baby is!) and for being such a great new Mom. Abigaelle picked a perfect day to come, as I already had Friday off--when we woke up yesterday Amy was just beginning to have contractions, and twelve hours later she was born! Mother and baby are doing very well, and we expect to go home tomorrow morning. I know that everyone is eager to see pictures (which I understand because she is such a beautiful little girl), so I've taken a few to post here:

As a special bonus, here is Abigaelle as seen using some incredible motion picture technology:

More pictures and details to follow soon, I'm sure. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers! Also congratulations to our friends Brian and Hilary Wiest who also had a baby yesterday! We hope that Hilary and little Kaden are doing well.

Congratulations on a beautiful baby girl! Abigaelle is lovely - doesn't even have newborn squishy face, lucky girl. I'm thrilled for you both, and want to hear more about the natural birthing process...
